The limited edition is inspired by the founder of the distillery, Alexander Reid
An exclusive, private event dedicated to the premiere of one of the rarest and most limited whiskies – Tales of The Macallan Volume II – was held at The Residence Exclusive Club in Sofia. The event brought together dozens of collectors and connoisseurs who had the opportunity to discover the story behind this edition, inspired by The Macallan’s founder – Alexander Reid. One of only 344 bottles from this limited series by the Scottish brand was purchased by a Bulgarian collector for 186 000 BGN.
“Tales of The Macallan Volume II is not just a whisky – it is a story preserved through time. It is a bridge between the craftsmanship of the past and the inspiration of the future. With each bottle, with each sip, we honour the vision of Alexander Reid and share something extraordinary with those who appreciate the art of perfection,” shared Anna Metaxas, Brand Ambassador for The Macallan in Eastern Europe and Greece, during the event.
Presented in a hand-crafted crystal decanter by Lalique, created by the brand’s leading whisky maker Euan Kennedy and distilled in 1949, Tales of The Macallan Volume II is concealed within an exquisite almanac telling the story of The Macallan’s founder, Alexander Reid. The limited edition is the result of creative collaborations between the finest craftsmen. For its unique packaging, the Scottish brand partnered with artisans specializing in crystal, leather, and paper. Long-time partner Lalique crafted the flawless crystal decanter, engraved with illustrations by Andrew Davidson portraying Alexander Reid as a teacher, farmer, and distiller. The London-based bookbinding atelier Shepherds, Sangorski & Sutcliffe and Zaehnsdorf – specialists in fine bookbinding and restoration of books and manuscripts – created the hand-crafted book Tales of The Macallan Volume II, requiring exceptional skill to conceal the decanter within 800 pages. The artistic printing house Imprimerie du Marais in Paris printed each page on special paper with custom inks.
In Bulgaria, Tales of The Macallan Volume II has been distributed by Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria. More information can be found at: www.themacallan.com.
