The internal sessions covered disaster response actions and first aid
The initiative is being held in a hybrid format—at the company’s headquarters and via a live online stream
On 28 and 29 April, Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria, in partnership with the National Association of Volunteers of the Republic of Bulgaria (NAVRB), held a series of specialised internal training sessions focused on emergency response. The initiative was delivered in a hybrid format - at the company’s headquarters and via online streaming - enabling dozens of employees to acquire essential knowledge and life-saving skills.
The trainings are a natural continuation of the partnership between the two organisations and build on the support provided through a donation from The Coca-Cola HBC Foundation in 2025. The contribution, amounting to over EUR 100,000, was granted to NAVRB to support efforts to combat wildfires in Bulgaria. The funds were allocated to the purchase of off-road firefighting vehicles, equipment and specialised tools, as well as information initiatives aimed at raising public preparedness for disaster situations.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to partner with Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria, as for us it is a priority not only to respond on the ground but also to actively work on prevention and building a culture of preparedness in society. We believe that when businesses invest in the knowledge of their people, the overall level of readiness and safety increases,” said Yasen Tsvetkov, Chair of NAVRB.
The first training panel focused on “Actions and Behaviour in Disasters and Emergency Situations and Preparing an Emergency Go-Bag”. Participants were introduced to the key principles of responding to natural disasters such as fires, floods, earthquakes and thunderstorms. Experts provided practical guidance on preparing a personal emergency kit and a family action plan, complemented by demonstrations of specialised equipment.
The programme continued on 29 April with a practical course on “First Aid and Emergency Care”, delivered by a team of paramedics and rescuers - members of NAVRB. The session covered the most common emergency situations and relevant response protocols. Participants also refreshed their knowledge on how to signal for help effectively and which actions to take in cases such as loss of consciousness or breathing cessation.
“People are our most valuable asset at Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria. That is why we strive to provide them with knowledge and skills that can be life-saving - anytime, anywhere. We believe that prepared people are the foundation of strong communities, and partnerships like this are key to building a culture of prevention and responsibility across society,” commented Jacklin Tzocheva, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director at Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria.
