Bankya Supports the Bulgarian Food Bank’s “Mission Food” Campaign

The partnership launches with a donation of mineral water for volunteers and people affected by crises and natural disasters

“Bankya” and the Bulgarian Food Bank are launching a partnership aimed at supporting people in vulnerable situations and raising awareness about the importance of hydration. The first joint initiative is connected to the Bulgarian Food Bank’s “Mission Food” campaign, through which “Bankya” will provide water for volunteers and teams participating in field operations supporting people and areas affected by natural disasters.

“Mission Food” supports people and communities affected by crises by collecting suitable food products to be distributed in emergency situations to volunteer formations across the country. The campaign is carried out in partnership with the National Association of Volunteers in the Republic of Bulgaria and with the support of the General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection.

The partnership between the two organizations will continue to develop through various joint educational and social initiatives. A key focus will be placed on highlighting the importance of adequate hydration when working in crisis situations, as well as its place as an important part of daily health care, and an active lifestyle.

“Every year, more than 3600 volunteers across the country respond to crises and disasters, often working under conditions of extreme fatigue, high temperatures, and limited access to food and water. Supporting them is vital - it gives them the strength to continue helping the next day. That is why we are building a strategic reserve of food and beverages and working with partners such as Bankya, which provides what every team in the field needs most: reliable hydration. This partnership is a key step towards better preparedness for the wildfire season and towards caring for the people who are first to respond in times of need, helping protect affected communities, crops, and the natural environment,” said Tsanka Milanova, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Food Bank.

“We are happy to support the work of the Bulgarian Food Bank and the people who dedicate time and energy every day to helping others. We believe that maintaining good balance starts with small everyday habits, and hydration is among the most important ones. This partnership represents another important step toward raising awareness and encouraging better daily habits,” said Vladimir Popov, Senior Brand Manager of “Bankya”.

The partnership with the Bulgarian Food Bank is another initiative by the company aimed at encouraging adequate hydration. Through educational campaigns, partnerships with experts, and various activities, the company continues to underpin the role of water in maintaining daily balance and overall physical and emotional well-being.
