The company supports the initiative for another year as part of its #YouthEmpowered educational program
Prominent managers from one of the most successful companies in the world – Coca-Cola, took part in the training of 26 young people in the 20th anniversary edition of "Manager for a Day", which took place on May 10 under the motto: "The power of one team". The company opened its doors for the sixth time to virtually host the future generation of managers involved in the Junior Achievement Bulgaria initiative. Thus, for the last six years over 90 young people have become part of its team in Bulgaria in one day.
As part of the global educational program of the company #YouthEmpowered, for another year students were given the opportunity to join its management team and find out what is the secret ingredient for the success of Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria, while being part of five teams in the field: "People and Culture", “Marketing”, "Finance", "Digital Solutions and Platforms" and "Supply Chain". As part of the initiative, 26 curious and ambitious young people were welcomed by 13 mentors with proven experience in top positions in the company. The Coca-Cola team presented successful practices and tools from their work in different areas, sharing valuable knowledge and practical guidance in various topics.
The large-scale initiative of Junior Achievement Bulgaria aims to enable students to enter the "kitchen of business" and first-hand to gain real and important experience, which is essential for their future development in various companies, organizations, and institutions. Thanks to the annual meetings between young people and top business representatives, in just one day, a young person's willingness, motivation and ambition can be ignited to lead him on his career path forward.
“We are extremely happy that through the partnership of Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria and Junior Achievement we manage to meet with future young managers in Bulgaria for the sixth year in a row and give them some of the knowledge and competencies that are in demand in the labor market and are needed for the development of any successful professional”, commented Maya Ivanova, Customer & Community Partnerships Manager at Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria.
The company's team helps "one-day managers" to get a glimpse into their daily work, shows them how the processes work from the inside and inspires them to discover their professional vocation as part of the Coca-Cola #YouthEmpowered educational program. It provides full training to thousands of young people aged 16-26, focusing on three target groups: primary education students from schools with a high dropout rate, final stage of secondary education students (in order to prevent future dropouts from the education system and the labor market) and college students (with a focus on increasing motivation and qualifications for a successful career start). Since its establishment in 2017 until today, more than 300 professionals have dedicated nearly 4 000 hours to volunteering under the program, thanks to which they have trained more than 16 000 young people from different cities in Bulgaria.
