Sasa Markovic is the new General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria

He succeeds Juerg Burkhalter, who continues his career as General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland


Sasa Markovic takes over as General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria. Under his leadership will be nearly 1000 professionals responsible for all areas of the company's business and development in the country.

He inherits the role from Juerg Burkhalter, who continues his career path in the Coca-Cola HBC Group as General Manager in his home country of Switzerland.

He has been part of the Coca-Cola HBC team since 2020, when he took on the role of Sales Director for Serbia and Montenegro, with key contributions in designing and implementing a new sales strategy, improving growth, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and achieving record performance on key business indicators. With Markovic at the helm, the Serbia & Montenegro sales team won several group awards, including contributing to winning the 2022 Andrew David Cup, which recognizes the company that has maximized all growth opportunities among the 29 countries in the Coca-Cola HBC Group.

Sasa Markovic brings with him strategic business knowledge, as well as operational sales experience, gained through working in different countries and multicultural environments. He started his career at P&G (Serbia and Romania) and has previous experience at Phillips covering several senior management positions in Central Europe and North America. Before joining Coca-Cola HBC, he was Executive Vice President at Gorenje/Hisense, where he was responsible for the entire commercial sector and company transformation as well as Gorenje's sales force in 33 countries. Markovic holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He is married, with two daughters.
