Coca-Cola HBC Achieves the Highest Score in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2023

Scored the highest of all 7,822 companies across 61 industries recognised in the Yearbook, awarded a Gold Class distinction and positioned as Industry Mover.

Coca-Cola HBC has been named as the world’s top-performing company in the beverage industry in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2023. In 2022, we scored 94 out of 100 which means we are in the top 1%* globally in the beverage industry. It is the highest score of all 7,822 companies across 61 industries recognised in the Yearbook. We were also recognised as an Industry Mover as, with a seven-point increase, we were the most improved in the beverage industry since last year.

In December 2022 this high score ranked us as #1 in the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability Index within the beverage industry. This was the 12th consecutive year that we were in the top three performers, and the sixth time that we were named the industry leader.

The annual Sustainability Yearbook recognises the world’s leading companies based on their sustainable business practices. It aims to distinguish individual companies, within their industries, that have demonstrated strengths in corporate sustainability.

CEO Zoran Bogdanovic said: ‘These scores reflect our dedication to our Net Zero by 40 commitment and Mission 2025 approach to achieving sustainable growth fully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our six key focus areas reflect our value chain: reducing emissions; water reduction and stewardship; packaging (World Without Waste); ingredient sourcing; nutrition; and our people and communities. Behind these high scores are a team of Coca-Cola HBC people working hard and fully committed to creating a better future. Sustainability performance is critical to our business and while we are proud of these scores and the progress we are making, we remain focused on the work still to be done.’
