In these hard times our main priority at the Coca‑Cola System are the people- our employees, partners and consumers. As it has always been.
The world today is facing an unprecedented situation. The COVID-19 pandemic turned around quickly our way of living and working. Perhaps it will change the lives of many people. In these hard times the empathy, care and responsibility to the most vulnerable is more needed than ever.
As always, our main priority at the Coca‑Cola System is the safety of our people, partners, customers, consumers and products. Since the outbreak of the pandemic we have been following strictly the health authorities’ directions in order to guarantee the health and safety of the people in the offices, in the production plants, in the wholesalers and commercial outlets everywhere in the world.
In the next months we will invest our energy, resources and actions into the main priorities: to keep doing all we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees, to stand by our business partners and to achieve a tangible change in our communities where we work.
What we do
Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, we support China, Italy and other deeply affected countries (with product and financial donations, support with logistics etc). We upgrade these actions with a total of USD 120 m donation across the world in the fight of COVID-19 in the most affected countries. This fund unites the efforts of the Coca‑Cola System and the Coca‑Cola Foundation- our global charity organization. The donations will be targeted to NGOs that work for the fight of the pandemic, for providing medical materials, equipment and beverages to healthcare workers, as well as food and beverages for the most vulnerable groups in the communities. We are working in close contact with governments and municipalities to make sure our help is bound with local efforts.
In Bulgaria the Coca‑Cola System started donation of water and soft drinks to the front-line healthcare workers. The initiative includes over 25 hospitals and social organizations across the country, and planned over 140 000 litres of water and soft drinks to be donated with weekly deliveries, in order to cover the needs of the people, who work 24/7 to care for the sick, as well as the people in need.
The Coca‑Cola Foundation supported the campaign "Together Against COVID-19" in support of the affected most vulnerable groups- doctors and medical personnel, people with disabilities, elderly people, children and youth, minorities, homeless, unemployed, lone parents etc. The initiative of the Bulgarian Donators' Forum, Foundation "America for Bulgaria", Embassy of the USA in Bulgaria and the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, has raised over BGN 815 000 until now for the fighting the pandemic aftermath for the most vulnerable groups in the country.
As already announced, since April we have suspended all our commercial brand communication for an indefinite period of time. We will use only our own channels and will optimize our presence in the social media to inform our partners and consumers what this decision means and how our activities will develop in the coming weeks.
Our thoughts are with all those affected with COVID-19, and we are thankful to the people who are fighting at the frontline and work tirelessly to care for the health and safety of our communities.
We will cope with this together.
