With joint efforts, they cleaned polluted locations near Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo and Stara Zagora. The initiative is organized for the 16th year in a row, supporting World Cleanup Day and the bTV media campaign "Let's clean up Bulgaria together".

The volunteers collected 3.5 tons of plastic, paper, glass, metal, and textile waste separately, which were handed over for recycling.

The largest group of volunteers traditionally gathered in the capital, and they were joined by the beloved performer Vladimir Ampov - Grafa, who has been among the ambassadors of the big cleaning of Bulgaria for many years. Together they cleaned the polluted areas in the Hunting Park, which covers an area of 2555.5 decares in the heart of Sofia.

"I am extremely happy that our vision of sustainable development and "World Without Waste" was shared by our colleagues and their relatives for another year in a row. With joint efforts, today our team removed hundreds of tons of separately collected waste from the map of Bulgaria, and I thank them sincerely for the good example that together with the local communities, we pass on to our children. It is invaluable that they have already understood the difference between cleaning and not polluting. And this is the first and most important step towards the big change and towards the realization of our big goal - the elimination of packaging waste and the implementation of the circular model "from bottle to bottle", said Sasa Markovic, General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria.

The My Green City initiative is held in support of the Coca-Cola System's global commitments to achieve by 2030 the equivalent of 100% collection and recycling of every bottle or can sold by the company, and by 2040 to become a carbon-neutral company.

As part of the previous editions of the campaign, the Coca-Cola team managed to green, clean and improve many areas, forests and parks in our country. Volunteers planted more than 7 acres of forests, collected more than 3,000 bags of waste from dozens of locations in the country, cleaned more than 30 km of coastal areas, transformed 10 public transport stops in Sofia into containers for collecting plastic and supported other socially responsible initiatives.
