The Coca-Cola System in Bulgaria invests additional 200 000 BGN in the small business in the country

The second wave of the campaign “The Neighborhood Shop” will help another 1200 small neighborhood stores


The Coca-Cola system in Bulgaria continues with its successful initiative that began last year, which supports small businesses in the country in overcoming the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. After the success of the first phase and the positive response from both customers and owners of neighborhood stores in the country, who have received support for their business, Coca-Cola continues to support local communities in Bulgaria. Just a few days ago, “The Neighborhood Shop” was recognized by the professional guild by winning the bronze award in the category “Promotions” of the prestigious awards for marketing communications Effie Awards.

The investments in the second phase of “The Neighborhood Shop” is in the amount of 200 000 BGN and will encompass 1200 stores in the country. The stores will receive inventory that will benefit their business, it will attract new clients and help retain their previous customers. The business representatives of Coca‑Cola HBC Bulgaria will support the owners of small stores with their expertise and professional business knowledge in how to make the outlets more attractive for the customers in their neighborhood.

“With this campaign Coca-Cola helped us make our store even more welcoming and colorful and make the shopping experience for our clients pleasant and interesting” shares a store manager in Burgas.

“Thanks to “The Neighborhood Shop” we received umbrellas, awnings and baskets that made our store more visible and attractive. Our clients come in with a smile and shop in a good mood”, says a neighborhood store owner in Vidin.

The campaign “The Neighborhood Shop” began last year and covered over 500 selected stores throughout the country as part of one of the priorities of The Coca-Cola System in Bulgaria – the support of local communities and the customers, with which we have been working and have been a trusted business partner for many years now. The economic impact of The Coca-Cola System in Bulgaria is expressed in the value added of 654 million BGN that accounts for 0,6 % of the Gross domestic product of the country. For each 1 BGN spend for a Coca-Cola drink, 0.70 BGN go to the local economy. The system maintains 16 200 jobs in the whole value chain which accounts for 0,5 % of the total employment.
