11 students with exceptional performance in the National Finance and Accounting Competition are awarded with a paid internship in our company

For the second consecutive year we are a major sponsor of the National Finance and Accounting Competition, which is organized by the University of National and World Economy, jointly with the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria (AUBG).

The competition, in which 12th graders from all over the country compete to showcase their knowledge and skills in this field, is one of the already established educational initiatives. It is also an example of а successful collaboration between high schools, universities and businesses, which, through joint efforts, support the development of young people in our country. In the last edition of the competition the record number of participants - 600 students from 40 schools - have taken part in it.

The four highest rated students are receiving a scholarship from our company and the first 11 will have the opportunity for a paid internship. Thus, the youngsters will be able to start their career development in an international organization. To date, four of the participants from last year’s competition are already part of our Shared Services Center and in order to combine their studies and career, they take advantage of our flexible work plan.

“Here, in Bulgaria, our company has a unique presence - from this beautiful land we support the business of over 20 countries in which the Coca‑Cola HBC Group operates. Thanks to this, we provide a variety of development opportunities, many of which are in finance and accounting. I am happy that this year we will have the opportunity to meet the talented young people who have excelled in this significant competition and I believe that the experience they will gain during their internship will be an extremely valuable one and why not fundamental as well to a successful career with us? "- shared with Nikolaos Arvanitis, Market-to-Cash Manager, who presented the awards to this year's winners during a formal ceremony held at UNWE's Formal Hall at the end of 2019.

A confirmation of Nikolaos Arvanitis’ words also resonate in the words of Vladimira Toneva, who is among the one of the most distinguished participants from the previous edition of the competition and in the fall of 2019, she commenced her career within the General Accounting team of the company: "When I started my internship at the company, I never knew that I would be able to combine work and study during my first year. But thanks to the flexible working hours and working arrangements that are provided, I have this opportunity and I am very happy about that. "

This year's champions will take their first career steps in our company as soon as they have completed their final exams and will have the opportunity to gain knowledge, experience and practical advice from the teams in the company's financial accounting departments over the course of their 4-month internship.
